Ekona Power is developing a breakthrough approach to producing industrial scale hydrogen that is both cheaper and cleaner. Our proprietary Trigeneration Pyrolysis (TGP) technology integrates pyrolysis with direct carbon fuel cells to produce hydrogen from natural gas at lower cost than steam methane reforming while reducing greenhouse gas emissions by more than 90%. Ekona Power Inc. Is a collaboration of the Institute for Breakthrough Energy Technology and Evok Innovations and is led by a team with more than 100 years of collective experience in clean energy technology.

Ensyn produces a biocrude from forest residues using its proprietary thermal technology. Ensyn’s biocrude has been in commercial production for over 25 years for the generation of food ingredients, natural chemicals and heating fuels. Ensyn is now building out its production capacity for a broader commercialization of heating and cooling fuels and for the production of low carbon feedstocks for petroleum refineries in an application named “co-processing”.

Evercloak is a start-up company based in Waterloo, Ontario. Paving the future of 2D material thin-film manufacturing. Commercializing energy-efficient graphene-based membranes for dehumidification applications.

e-Zn is a Toronto-based energy storage company with a breakthrough technology that “metallizes energy” – storing energy in physically free zinc metal. This ultra-low-cost and long-duration energy storage solution provides a platform for the world’s energy markets to be 100% supplied by renewable energy, enabling a zero- carbon energy future. e-Zn’s technology can provide energy storage that is much less expensive than current incumbents, such as lithium-ion, can deliver energy for multiple days, is fire resistant, and is completely recyclable/reusable.
