Policy

The Lands and Minerals Sector provides scientific and technological knowledge and policy advice to governments, industry and Canadians on Canada's mineral and metal resources nationally and internationally. Working with other federal departments and agencies, we:

  • promote the sustainable development and use of Canada's mineral and metal resources
  • create and update federal policies on minerals and metals
  • ensure that these policies and strategies are consistent with sustainable minerals and metals development and use in Canada and around the world
