Project Objectives

The objective of this project is to develop silicon oxide (SiOx) production equipment capable of continuously producing high-purity, uniformly sized SiOx at a competitive cost. This material will be incorporated into high-energy-density cells to evaluate its performance in industrial batteries.

Expected Results

This project aims to:

  1. Support the growth and sustainability of Canadian industries (battery manufacturing, raw material production, mining) through the local production of advanced materials such as SiOx, leading to increased economic activity and job creation.
  2. Optimize productivity, costs, and energy consumption through continuous SiOx production, which is more efficient than the batch method.
