Use the Vehicle Emission Comparison Tool to find out how much cleaner your new vehicle can be compared to the one you drive now.

The tool calculates the reduction in Greenhouse Gas emissions of up to 4 vehicles in comparison to a base vehicle.

Technical requirements

You MUST allow Excel to run macros by clicking on the ‘Enable Content’ button when asked. Without macros, the tool will not work.

Data sources

The Vehicle Emission Comparison Tool uses information from the Fuel Consumption Guide from Natural Resources Canada to calculate emissions for gasoline and diesel vehicles.

The emissions of electric vehicles are calculated from the emissions of generating the electricity used to recharge electric vehicles. The emission data for electricity generation is from Environment & Climate Change Canada.
