Canadian Centre for Housing Technology

Twin houses at the Canadian Centre for Housing Technology

The Canadian Centre for Housing Technology (CCHT) is a unique twin-house facility used for the research and testing of residential technologies.
CanmetENERGY and our project partners use the CCHT to evaluate and monitor advanced energy technologies for the purpose of product optimization and acceleration to market of the energy efficient technologies that we innovate.
CCHT’s whole-house, simulated occupancy, fully monitored environment offers clients unparalleled research and development opportunities for their housing innovations. In addition to more conventional systems, the CCHT facilities can accommodate the installation and testing of leading-edge technologies such as combined heat and power (CHP) systems, fuel cells, solar technologies and heat pumps.
Qualified personnel are present to provide equipment installation, monitoring and reporting services.

CCHT's  a collaborative initiative between the National Research Council, Natural Resources Canada and Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.
