DABO TM A Fault Detection and Diagnosis Software Application

After several years of research and development, CanmetENERGY released DABOTM, a fault detection and diagnosis, performance analysis and documented history creation software application. DABOTM is a high-performance technical management tool for buildings. It continuously collects data that the centralized regulation system and building control can read. DABOTM is marketed by UCtriX and Bâtiment Global International (BGI).

DABOTM: A High Performance Ongoing Commissioning Tool

  • detects broken down electromechanical equipment and identifies operation problems with its 800 logical rules
  • conducts a more in-depth analysis of operation faults in electromechanical systems and identifies under or over designed components with its 275 performance indices
  • produces fault detection reports and performance analysis reports and recommends corrective measures to be implemented by the maintenance team even before these faults have an impact

Significant Benefits

There are many benefits to this type of application:

  • increased user comfort and reduction in the number of complaints and service calls
  • real-time identification of corrective actions to take and efficient scheduling of correction maintenance team tasks
  • lasting energy savings, with initial savings of more than 15%
  • optimal design of a component, equipment or system to be replaced, thanks to the operational and performance history
  • facilitated LEED accreditation

Remarkable Results

In the last few years, DABOTM has proven its worth in energy savings in the buildings in which it has been installed and used, such as the Palais des congrès de Montréal and the Brampton courthouse. It yielded a 15 to 25% reduction in energy consumption, depending on the building. For example, its use at the Palais des congrès de Montréal resulted in energy savings of $300,000. To Ensure the Persistence of Commissioning Benefits

DABOTM also enables the persistence of initial commissioning (Cx) benefits by ensuring the maintenance, improvement and optimization of the building’s performances. In this way, it prevents the degradation of the functioning of the building’s electromechanical systems. For additional information, please consult the following product sheet:
