ENERGY STAR® certified medical imaging equipment can reduce a facility’s energy consumption through energy saving features and low power modes. Increasing their energy efficiency helps drive down costs while maintaining a high standard of equipment quality.

Medical imaging equipment are essential technologies found in hospitals and clinics used to visualize the human body. This category of products includes magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), mammography, x-ray, nuclear imaging, computed tomography (CT) and ultrasound imagery.
These products are some of the largest plug loads in a health care facility, contributing to large energy costs in hospitals and out-patient facilities.
Many MRI devices are eligible for the ENERGY STAR label, including low-helium products, allowing customers to purchase efficient products for their needs.
